Museu de Lisboa
The Museu de Lisboa (Museum of Lisbon) it’s a unique museum with 5 different settings that allow you to know Lisbon and its history through different perspectives.
The museum’s main goal is to help you “find” Lisbon, one of the world’s oldest and most diverse cities.
With 5 different settings: Palácio Pimenta, Teatro Romano, Museu Santo António, Casa dos Bicos (archeologic center) and Torreão Poente do Terreiro do Paço, the museum presents many important moments of Lisbon’s history.
The head office of the museum is in Palácio Pimenta where you can find a permanent exhibition of Lisbon’s history.
Santo António’s Museum, remodeled in 2014, hosts a modern exhibition covering Santo António’s history and his importance in the Festas de Lisboa.
Lisbon hosted one of the most important theaters of the Roman Empire, discovered in 1755 after the earthquake that destroyed half the city, which is located in the hill of St. George’s castle. It was renovated in 2015 and hosts exhibitions and daily cultural activities.
