Lavra Funicular
The oldest funicular in the city of Lisbon was inaugurated on April 19th, 1884.
On its opening day it worked continuously for 16 hours, carrying more than 3 thousand passengers, free of charge. In 2002 it was classified as a National Monument.
Bica Funicular
This funicular was classified as a National Monument in 2002.
It was inaugurated on June 28th 1892 and its route is considered one of the most picturesque in our city.
Glória Funicular
This is the busiest funicular in the city of Lisbon and in 2002 it was classified as a National Monument.
Inaugurated on October 24th 1885, this mean of transportation was the second of its kind implemented in Lisbon.
Santa Justa Elevator
It was designed by the architect Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard and has a cast iron structure, decorated with filigree. In 2002 it was classified as a National Monument.
The Santa Justa Elevator was inaugurated on July 10th 1902 and it is the only vertical elevator in Lisbon opened to the public.
