MUDE

Today MUDE is a museum dedicated to all expressions of design, with areas for exhibition, creation, socializing, education and debate.

The MUDE - Museum of Design and Fashion, Francisco Capelo Collection opened on May 21, 2009. Its origin was the acquisition by the Municipality of Lisbon of the product design and fashion design collection by Francisco Capelo, a renowned art collector .
The public acquisition of this important collection was possible thanks to the special treatment and the taste that the collector has always shown so that the Francisco Capelo Collection “would remain in this city”. In addition to deepening the study of that collection, guaranteeing the best conditions for its conservation, research, presentation, dissemination and internationalization, MUDE is today a museum dedicated to all expressions of design, with areas of exhibition, creation, conviviality, education and debate.
